Whether updating your own profile, or helping someone with a forgotten password, there’s many reasons why you may need to set up new passwords on MainEvent. So let’s have a look at how we can make those necessary changes with ease, shall we?

Updating Your Own Password

Sometimes you need to put yourself first, so today we’re going to learn about setting your own password first. To get started, click your name in the right corner of the navigation bar and select Change Password.

Now, this option will assume that you know your current password since you need to be logged in to get to this point. A three field Change Password page will load.

Enter your current password first, then enter the new password and again to confirm. Once you’ve completed those three fields, click Complete Password Reset.

Sending a Reset Link

For other’s, the process is more a game of hot potato. You generate the email that will allow that user to reset their password themselves. Let’s get to it.

To get started, you need to get to the Management User Index. Click Admin in the navigation menu and select Manage Users.

You’ll be looking at the Management User Index now. Feel free to use the quick search, filter, or sorting options to find the user you need. Once you find the user in question, click the Arrow button in the columns section and select  Send Password.

The user will receive a password reset email in their inbox. The link will expire 30 minutes after sending so make sure to confirm with the user that they will be able to respond within that time frame.

Lost Password

If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it directly from the login page. Enter your user name and click Continue to Site.

Click Lost Password? and you will receive an email to reset your password.
