Article Summary

Now, maybe you don’t want to edit the Global Location summary. Perhaps you don’t have access or perhaps you need to edit something you can’t get to from that page. Let’s have a look at editing from the client level as well to see how it’s done and what the difference is.

To get started, click Locations in the navigation menu and select View Locations.

This will bring you to the Client Location Index. From there use filters, quick search or just scroll to find the location entry that needs editing. Click Edit (the wrench icon).

Now cast your eyes upon the client Location Summary page. As with the global summary page, the uppermost section is the Location Details. Name, Chain info, Address 1, Address 2, City, State/Province, Zip, and Country.

The next section is where you’ll first see the difference between this client level summary and the global summary. Locations on the client level are assigned a market and a location type and that’s what you can change here. The dropdown fields will allow you to choose any active Markets or Locations Types.

Next, you’ll see a list of any available Location Variables for this client. Location Variables are assigned to a location and also to a recap. Assigning a location variable to a location will allow you to ask location-specific questions on recaps that will only appear for events held at locations with the variable assigned. You might have questions for a sampling program and have different questions if that location is a grocery store vs. a liquor store, for example so your location variable might indicate a liquor store. You might have chain-specific questions, so a variable might indicate that the location is a Walmart or a Kroger.

Whatever your variables may be, editing them on the location summary will always be the same. You can either make the variable active by clicking the checkbox next to it, or inactive by unchecking the checkbox.

Finally, you’ll see the Location Custom Fields. Respond according to the field type (integer, text, select, multi-select, etc) as needed.

Once you have made all necessary edits, click Save at the bottom left of the page.
